Camping in the Lake District

Lanefoot Farm Campsite is a peaceful site in a picturesque setting, between Bassenthwaite Lake and Derwentwater, with panoramic views of the surrounding fells.

The campsite has toilets, showers, washing up sinks, and electricity hook up points.

We also have an Information Room - with local maps and leaflets; a Drying Room - for after those wet days on the fells; and a small Shop - where we sell all the breakfast essentials sourced from local suppliers, as well as marshmallows for the campfires!

Campfires are permitted on both fields by arrangement.

The Campsite is divided into 2 fields, which are both approximately 2 acres in size.

The Meadow Field

The Meadow Field has some mature tree screening, and is divided by the meadow flowers and grasses which grow there. It is a more secluded camping area, with views towards Skiddaw, Barrow and the Helvellyn range.

The Open Field

The Open Field is an open field, with views towards Catbells, Skiddaw and Lord's Seat. It presents an open camping area, with plenty of room for everyone.

Campsite Improvements

We have refurbished the campsite facilities over the winter - just finishing in time for Easter. The showers now have underfloor heating, and have been completely redecorated. There are now 3 washing up sinks, situated in a warm room. The toilets have been decorated too.

The ground works we had planned for the winter months, have been delayed due to the floods, snow and frosts. We hope to divide the Open Field into 2 smaller fields, by planting a native species mixed wood hedge across the field, to separate the caravans from the tents.

Families, Walkers, and Cyclists are most welcome.

New arrivals may pitch up after midday on day of arrival.

All pitches must be vacated by 11am on day of departure.
